We Made the Pages of The Planet Magazine — And So Did Biochar
We're thrilled to share that Kulshan Carbon Trust was recently featured in The Planet Magazine, Western Washington University's award-winning environmental publication. Writer and photographer Liam Britt spent time this winter exploring the growing biochar movement right here in Northwest Washington, and we're proud that KCT's work was part of the story.
The piece, titled "The Beauty of Biochar," paints a vivid picture of what's possible when communities commit to practical, place-based climate solutions. From a flame-cap kiln burning on a crisp February morning on Lopez Island, to sacks of powdery charcoal stacked at a community farm north of Bellingham — the article captures biochar not as a distant technology, but as something already taking root in our region.
We encourage you to read the full publication — including Liam Britt's stunning photo essay — at The Planet Magazine. It's a beautiful piece of local journalism about a solution that gives us real reason for hope. And if you'd like to learn more about KCT's biochar work, or explore how your farm or organization might get involved, we'd love to hear from you.
