About Us

Kulshan Carbon Trust acts as a hub for NW Washington stakeholders and resources to come together and develop projects that regenerate local forests and fields.

Mission

We catalyze community-led collaborations that empower land stewards to implement regenerative solutions, such as biochar, to restore ecosystems, draw down carbon, and build resilience across our bioregion.

Vision

We envision a thriving Northwest Washington landscape where collaborative regeneration revitalizes forests, fields, and waters, sustaining resilient communities for future generations.

Our Work

Kulshan Carbon Trust (KCT) is a nonprofit organization based in Northwest Washington working to conserve water, sequester carbon, and revitalize soils through collaborative nature-based climate solutions. We develop and support projects that draw down atmospheric carbon while regenerating ecosystems, conserving water resources, supporting local economies, and building resilient communities. Rooted in our bioregion, KCT’s work spans community engagement, land stewardship, ecosystem restoration, and measurement of ecosystem services such as carbon storage, soil vitaity, and water retention, with the goal of advancing regenerative practices and climate resilience through collaborative engagement with communities connected to the land.
